Henderson Handicap Double Delivers Thrilling Finish 26th Sept 2026
Mild sunshine and perfect late-September conditions greeted runners for this year’s Henderson race, with competitors facing a unique two-part handicap challenge.
The action began with Part 1, a closed mile handicap, where 23 runners took to the track. With the track race completed, attention quickly turned to Part 2, an approximately 4km open handicap run along the riverside. The scenic route provided a contrasting challenge. A substantial handicap spread of 13 minutes 30 seconds separated the first and last starters, yet as the race unfolded that gap steadily disappeared. Well done to all the runners taking part and a big thank you to all the marshals and timekeepers with a special mention to Charlotte Hendry for bringing everything together. Also, a big thank you to Tempest for the prizes.
